Black bean burgers

  • Mixing bowl
  • Fork or potato masher
  • Skillet or grill pan
  • Spatula

Ingredients
  

  • Black Bean Burgers
  • 1 15 oz can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 bell pepper diced (any color)
  • 1/4 cup onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 egg or flaxseed mixture for vegan option
  • Cooking Oil
  • For frying

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Black Beans
  • Mash black beans in a mixing bowl.
  • Mix the Ingredients
  • Add oats, veggies, spices, and egg/flaxseed. Combine well.
  • Form the Patties
  • Shape the mixture into patties.
  • Cook the Burgers
  • Heat oil in a skillet and cook patties for 4–5 minutes on each side.
  • Serve
  • Place on buns with desired toppings.
